Sorry for the long wait for the latest episode of "A week in Singapore". Haven’t been out in town nor any real exciting events/happenings for the past few weeks.

This was taken while I was out with Tragic Comedy and Kwok for a night photoshoot in the city. Do realize I need to purchase a new lens pretty soon as the current one is going to die out.
Taken along Haji Lane, which is known for lots of small shops that sells very cool and nice clothes. Visit it if you want something different in your wardrobe besides the usual clothes from COSPA and UNIQLO ^^;
Along the same lane, just a little further down – Some of the store owners and friends playing a round of badminton. Any of you guys do sports? Include dolphin waxing as well.
Tried to take the picture of this cat while it was lazing about but just when I was about to compose the shot, it walked away and went to get a drink from the puddle of water nearby! @*%&!
Another reason to get a new lens. Ultrasonic Motor and Image Stabilization – The current kit lens is a piece of cack. Taken with an ISO of 1600.
Fireworks display taken on Chinese New Year Eve. How many of you guys do celebrate it?
Some new year goodies. Some steam cake, yam cake and Nian Gao (Left to Right). Nian Gao literally means "New Year’s Cake" is the most important cake eaten on New Year’s. My mom often fries it with eggs. Delicious stuff.
Didn’t get Bwa Kwa during CNY as the stores jack the prices up, by a lot!
Homemade cooking by my mom, except for the crabs which were bought. I need to pick up some cooking skills! Important if you want to impress that cute girl ^^;
Or sometimes we just take out food from Chinatown. Delicious fish.
Navigational signs in the airport terminal. Comes in Chinese, Malay and Japanese languages as well. Taken at Changi Airport Terminal 3, the newest terminal that was just opened last month. If you’re taking Singapore Airlines you’ll end up there.
A urinal with an image of the fly to supposedly help males to aim better. Why can’t they have urinals like these?

If you can’t afford Candy Girls, you could always stick with the mannequins that are readily available outside lingerie shops. Just note that they are on the hard side ^^;

Picture of the red packets/Ang Baos that was collected over during the Chinese New Year period. Will be able to open them tomorrow! All the money will be going into my "Making the Switch – Macbook Pro" funding. Got a little fed up with using Windows and did get to try OS X in the past – which I find is a pretty awesome OS.
Does anyone want to contribute to the funding? ^^;

I’ve been planning to go out and take non moe pictures as well, but haven’t got the chance yet.

@ron~: Used a tripod for the Chinese New Year photo and held the camera in my hand for the last photo. Am using the Canon EOS 400D Kit lens, the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, which is a steamy piece of mechanical cack (shite)
Which Mac model are you using? iBook, MacBook etc? Would like to get a Macbook Pro to replace my aging Acer laptop (another piece of mechanical cack) ^^;
hmm if you can produce that kind of image with that lens, that means the lens is not bad :D
I’m using imac 24″ and macbook, macbook pro is too expensive, was thinking to get macbook pro, but I bought those two instead, for about the same price with 1 macbook pro ^^;
Me wants to make the switch to OSX as well. But a MacBook Pro is so freaking expensive that I’m considering getting an iMac and a MacBook instead. They cost around the same!
@ron~: Would like to get a iMac and Macbook instead but since I already have a desktop around and am looking for a replacement for my laptop (Which was a high-end one), am considering the Macbook Pro instead as it’s portable as well, which could at least last me the next 3 years.
The lens is good for starters but I think I’ve already outgrown it. The CA (Chromatic Abbreviation/Purple fringing thing) on the lens is terrible and it’s not sharp at the edges. Used much better lenses and could tell the difference immediately ^^;

My name is Dirk, I live in Brussels, europe, and I am doing a research to get my degree in psychological studys. I am in my last year at the ” Université Libre de Bruxelles” ( U.L.B.). My research is about the look we people bring upon japanese animation, depending on the culture we live in.
To be able to do this study, I will need the help of people and anime sites out of europe, so I can compare these populations. I am asking you here if it would be possible for me to add a link on your site, where people will be linked to a site ( in english) were they will see an extract of a japanese animation, and then they will be asked to respond to a questionnaire. Do you think this could be possible? If “yes”, how should this link look like (for instance, what size should it have?)
I already got like 120 european responses, but only like 8 asian ones, which is close, but not quiet enough for a research…;o) I hope you can help me to improve this :o)
