And I have finally went to make a batch of name cards/business cards for myself in order to spread the idea of moe- I mean to reach out to a greater audience.
Those who follow my blog will remember seeing this picture; it’s one of the photos which I had submiited for the SYPA 08 competition (I didn’t win anything ^^;).
Only had the front of the card printed as I realize instead of having the receiver to turn to the underside of the card just to look at my contact details and stuff, why not just place it in the front, together with the photo. Don’t have a logo at the moment but will be working on that soon.
So why the whole idea of name cards/business cards?
I figured it would be nice to have a card for my blog, but more importantly. to showcase my photography works to the people who have not seen my works before.
Another reason is also not having to trouble the new people I meet by having to remember my blog address, but instead, giving them a card so that they could keep it for further references and job opportunities, and if I’m lucky, someone who’ll like my work and as me to do some jobs for them ^^
And also, I’ll be attending Singapore Toy and Comic Convention tomorrow (Friday) as an event photographer for Collateral Damage Studios so I can meet more people. Good opportunity to pass them my card as well. Will you guys be going as well? I’ll be there on Friday and Saturday.
I didn’t use an online service like MOO but instead got these printed at a local printing shop. 100 cards for S$30.
(P.S Am using a temporary theme at the moment till I get my own theme up. Will get it done ASAP!)
Ooh, the site’s looking a lot cleaner now!
Darn, I was trying to get a press pass for tomorrow’s preview event (via my university’s online magazine) but the STCC coordinator never responded. :\ I’ll be heading down on Saturday and Sunday though! It’d be a good opportunity to network to make good use of the preview event! :D
Those are neat business cards! Where did you get them printed at? I was thinking about MOO because I like the fact that I can customize the images printed on the cards, plus the size and paper quality is excellent (had samples made before) but the cost is kind of iffy.
Argh typo! It should’ve been “It’d be a good opportunity to network so make good use of the preview event!”
I’m the first anime blogger with a name card btw!! Let’s exchange tmr.
Seems like name cards are catching on..
Also, moeside looks so….CLEAN now, it’s…refreshing, Windbell. lol.
Also, have fun at the preview event. Make use of the networking opportunities ^^
I won’t probably get to apply for press passes till in about a year, ’cause that’s when I can write for my faculty’s publication.
u are ok with revealing your name online? ^^;
i’ll love to have your card if we get to meet in future.
That looks pretty professional. Too bad I won’t; be able to make it to SSTC. Hope you have fun tehre.
Saturday and Sunday for TCC. I have no power lol.
Congrats on the name cards, and this layout looks simplistic and clean indeed, even if it is temporary. Spread the lurve.
Soshi: Maybe we could meet up at some point.
@tj_han: Darn! You got tickets/passes to tonight’s event too!? *grumbles*
@gordon: But there’s nothing wrong with leaving his name online is there? I mean, potential clients might want to contact him and I think knowing his real name would facilitate convos better. :D()
I demand photos of the preview event if possible!
Loved the temp theme..esp the top bar.. lol… and interesting name card u have.
We have to exchange cards next time we meet!
It’s a good idea to have business cards, whether you are actually working or not. It brings a whole level of professionalism (which the cards are, good job on those). I’m having mine printed with the company I’m working with =P.
P.S. I also like the temp layout, it’s so… clean… and nice.
Have fun!!!!!
This theme is actually pretty nice. Not bad.
I like the idea of a business card. It’s a great way to advertise your site in the offline world!!!!!!
Went there grab an art book and loitered around. Did not see you around though or I could be too excited taking pictures of other stuff.
Just got home. Will be making another trip down to take more pictures. Hopefully I would cover what I missed today. I need a camera upgrade soon.
The kitty in your card just got me :o am prolly your first few recipents of it, should return you one someday.
and yeah perhaps i could work a lil’ logo magic for you, for the fun of it!
Haha, I got one of those for ten dollars orz! :P
@Soshi: I didn’t see you around at the event. Maybe because I was too busy snapping pictures ^^;
@gordon: It isn’t a problem ^^;
@Adun: The next time we meet then haha. I wonder when :/
@Hiji: Got to let me see your namecards!
@Ak: Shh! That’s a special card.
Such a wonderful description! No idea how you managed to write this post..it’d take me long hours. Well worth it though, I’d assume. Have you considered selling banners on your website?
In these days of austerity along with relative stress and anxiety about taking on debt, some people balk resistant to the idea of employing a credit card in order to make acquisition of merchandise or maybe pay for any occasion, preferring, instead just to rely on a tried as well as trusted procedure for making payment – hard cash. However, if you have the cash available to make the purchase in full, then, paradoxically, that’s the best time just to be able to use the card for several motives.Small Business Article
