While at Comiket 74, I came across one of the weirdest and yet somewhat ‘smartest’ marketing ‘schemes’ by the kind hearted people above targeted at me otakus.
Sold at most of the vending machines scattered around Big Sight, I came across this, known as Comic Water.
What is this mysterious water… more info after the jump!
The first though I had was that it was meant to be used while doing your personal health care (a.k.a dolphin waxing).
Coupled with your latest issue of ‘Dengenki Hime’, ‘*ahem*ero*ahem*manga’ or even scans from your kind friends who have uploaded them on the internets, it keeps you hydrated while you have your dolphin at an excited state.
One bottle is meant to last for a session of dolphin waxing; so if you have the reusable dolphin docking interface port, you’ll probably have to get a lot more bottles ^^;
It also apparently has special minerals infused in the water itself which enhances your drawing and Japanese learning ability (For foreigners). You also get a free pillow, given by random by the vending machines (自動販売機 – Jidouhanbaiki). Not forgetting a +10 to otaku general skills.
Inserting your coins in a certain pattern allows you to get a free bottle as well.
This pretty much explains why it got sold out at most of the vending machines scattered around Big Sight.
Too bad it was a limited comiket-only release item. If you were to choose between Comic water and normal mineral water, which would you prefer?
P.S I saw those school swimsuit and meido drinks while grabbing some books in Akiba the other day. Will try them out when I visit Akiba again ^^;
Bottle Illustrations by Aoi Nishimata
Normal, please. Lol. I am pretty sure there is nothing extraordinary inside, it is just meant as a gimmick.
I choose to drink water from bottles adorned with moelicious girls please.
Can I choose Calpis Water instead? ^^
Lol @ the Tenga next to the magazine.
Whichever one is more cost-efficient of course. I want to try getting the pillow though >.<
Wow good vending machine. I also wouldn’t pass by without a bottle of two.
KOMIKKU UOTAA 9999BIN KUDASAI! I saw that manga on amazon a while back, is it worth the buy?
well, it’s quite right to say that we need to replenish after using tenga.
Ah, Comic Water.
I bought some while I was there. I took the botttles home. I have them on my self currently!!!!!!!!
I do like the bottles!!!!!!
It taste like normal water…
@Panther: No! It’s water infused with moelicious power!
@C.I: Hehe
@double: What?! You are going to drink cowpiss? :p
@Coco the Bean: I got mine as a gift from K-books ^^;
@フェイダムさん: It’s a adult manga so… but it’s a nice buy if you’re a Naruko Hanaharu fan. Actually, just buy it even you’re not one ^^
@Rin: It’s doesn’t taste like normal water. I insist!
Dolphin moisturiser and revitaliser. Who says men don’t need cosmetics?
lol @ the Tenga. Souvenir from Japan eh?
I want to go to Comiket someday ><
Wow.. I bet drinking this bottles of water while reading the lates issue of Dengenki Hime is very refreshing!!
