^ Some kipi for you (I didn’t take this picture)

Just to let you guys know, I’ll be joining a photography competition known as “Singapore Young Photographer Award 2008” a.k.a SYPA 08

This is the first time I’ll be participating in a Photography competition so I really don’t know if my photos will create a “WOW” impression on the judges. Have been going around Singapore the past few days to capture a couple of shots to be submitted. Got to get to know of this competition a week after I got back form my spring trip to Tokyo ^^;

Will have to submit a set of 6 prints that cover at least 4 out of the 8 subjects matters.

  • Abstract
  • Architecture/Buildings
  • Children at Play
  • People at Work
  • Portrait(s)
  • Nature
  • Still Life
  • Night Scene

The submission dateline’s 30th April 2008. I have a really wicked idea for the “People at Work” but I wonder if I’ll get shot down by the judges if I did that :)

More information can be found on their website: http://www.sypa.org.sg/2nd_sypa.htm

Hope I win something :)

Video of a image resizing and manipulation demonstration that is totally jaw dropping and I want it in photoshop immediately!

The ability to delete people towards the end of the video is totally crazy.

There is also an online demo of the idea, created by Patrick Swieskowski that’s based on using the seams of images to make the alterations. Users can also upload their own images and manipulate them. Will try it out later. Can’t wait for the real thing to be out!

The related paper written by Dr. Ariel Shamir and Dr. Shai Avidan can be found here.

I am sure many of you have watched Ep. 12 of Lucky Star (Comiket Episode) thru many different mediums. Remember the assignment that Konata assigned to the Hiiragi sisters?

^ Replace the apple tea label and the liquid flowing out with milk

A milk comericial in Japan that will bound to sell more milk to horny otakus and dirty old businessman than to young kids that are growing up.

How did they do it?

Simple, by slapping their milk commerical with sexily-bikini-claded anime girls dressed in cow bikini from the anime “Boukyaku no senritsu” , we get a nice commericial to rewind and rewatch :p
